Question:
I had my interview today, and I don’t know if I have to say that it went well or not. After the interview, the officer told me that He had to do a security check and get me approved if it goes well. I don’t know what all that means as I have never heard of such a thing. I know every case is different, but I am lost and stressed. He didn’t give me any notice except a note stick on which he wrote that I should apply for a permanent residence card 90 days before my conditional one expires. Am I approved? If yes, how long does the security check take? how long will it take for me to receive the green card? If no, what’s gonna happen? I don’t know what to think. Thank you for reading me.
Answer:
Based on the info in your question it sounds like the security/background check wasn’t completed before you had the interview. If you have already had your biometrics done it is just a matter of the time it takes to process the information. Usually this process doesn’t take a long period of time and unless you have a huge red flag, such as being flagged as a Terrorist, it should not be a problem.
Good Luck!!
