I live in Maryland and have Maryland DL since 3 months never got ticket in last 2.5 year (Had GA and CA license in previous 2 year without any tickets ) and I was travelling to GA and got a speeding ticket for 84MPH in 70 zone on I-85 FRANKLIN county.
I accept that it was my fault, so I paid my ticket online same day which was 140$.
But in my ticket it says

QUESTION

(1) do i have to appear in court even though I paid my fine before 2 months of court date
(2)will it go to criminal data base record since this citation is with summons
(3)will be remain clear in my criminal records or its serious offense and will affect me

Answer:

It is my understanding that any out of state license holder will have any speeding tickets reported to their state. GA doesn’t issue points on GA driver’s license holders if the speed is 14 mph or less over the limit. However, other states (such as Florida) do. That is why GA now reports all speeding tickets issued to out of state drivers to their respective states. I would advise you to contact the Clerk of Court to make sure the fine has been paid and they have a record of your payment. This is the best way to make sure there hasn’t been any miscommunication about paying your citation. I hope this information has been helpful.
